Berghaus achieves training record

Berghaus trains record number in-store during 2010, with away days giving retailers first-hand experience of its products

Berghaus said it carried out a record number of in-store training sessions during 2010, with on-the-hill training days giving retail staff added-value training.

Berghaus said it carried out 1,600 in-store training sessions through its retail training team. The team also organised 547 on-the-hill training days for retail staff.

Berghaus operates a dedicated field training team of four, offering in-store and on-the-hill support to retail staff.  In addition to training initiatives, Berghaus has also continued with its extensive programme of shop-in-shops and has installed 35 systems this year.  The company has also supplied a wide range of in-store furniture to customers in the UK and has provided sustained and significant marketing support to its retail base, in order to assist in the sell through of product.

And from early in 2011, Berghaus will be the first brand in the UK to have WL Gore certified trainers embedded in its team.  The dedicated field training team of four will receive the same level of training as Gore’s own trainers, allowing them to offer retail staff advanced product information.

The move is timed to coincide with the introduction of some major WL Gore developments for the autumn/winter 2011 season, including the launch of Gore-Tex Active Shell and a new range of 2L Gore-Tex Performance Shell fabrics, which will feature in Berghaus’ core walking products.
