Buck Knives has launched a unique 75th Anniversary Edition of the 119 Special Knife.
The Anniversary Edition of the 119 Special includes all of the original model’s features plus a custom medallion in the handle and an anniversary blade stamp. The 6” knife is beautifully presented in a collectors tin with an embossed 75thanniversary leather sheath.
CJ Buck, CEO and chairman of Buck Knives, said: “We have many loyal fans in the UK and all around the world who have been buying Buck Knives for decades and we wanted to thank them with a special anniversary piece that can be kept for years to come.
“The 119 Special is our most famous knife and this anniversary marks 75 years since the design was first crafted by Hoyt Buck – a knife that we hope will be continued to be passed on from generation to generation.”
The story started with Hoyt Buck’s first fixed blade knife which was made from a worn-out file blade in 1902. In 1942 the U.S. Government requested blade donations for the military after the attack on the Pearl Harbour, it was then in the basement of a church that Hoyt Buck started making knives by hand and the original designed later transformed into the iconic 119 Special.
The limited edition knife will be exclusively distributed in the UK by Whitby & Co.
Garry Woodhouse, sales and marketing director at Whitby & Co, said: “We know our customers are going to love this 119 Special limited edition set. The iconic design and special edition features make it an ideal gift to present to any Buck Knife lover, especially with Christmas only a few months away.”
Backed by Buck Knives forever warranty, the 119 Special 75th Anniversary Collector’s Tin will be available in October 2017.
