New energy source for Scottish golfers

Golf Energy Bars has become the official energy snack of the Scotland amateur team and the Scottish Golf Academy, thanks to an agreement struck by Golf Energy Bar and the Scottish Golf Union. The bars come in two flavours: Chocolate and Toffee Chip, and Fruit and Oat.

Golf Live launched

Golf Live, an interactive golf show concept that will bring golfers closer to the best players in the world, has been launched. The first three-day event will be staged at Stoke Park from May 14-16 2010, with Colin Montgomerie and Paul Casey topping the bill.

Grant approval for MD Golf

MD Golf has appointed Steve Grant as Business Development Manager. Grant has worked in the golf trade for over 30 years, and his responsibilities will cover the UK, Europe and beyond.

Keeping bogeys at bay

UK travel sweet manufacturer Simpkins has launched a range of Fairway Mints and Fruit drops specifically for the golf market, which come in retro sweet tins. With separate tin designs for men and women golfers, the women’s tin exclaims: “Who said women can’t drive!” The men’s tin claims that a mint “Helps keep the bogeys at bay!”

PowaKaddy rolls into HSBC

At the 10 UK qualifying events recently held for the 2009 HSBC Golf World Champion of Champions tournament, at which a total of 450 UK club champions competed, PowaKaddy won the trolley count, accounting for 68% of electric trolleys used.

Heading to Harrogate

GTEC09, the Foremost trade show, will take place in Harrogate from November 1-3, with the TGI Golf Show following at the same venue immediately afterwards, from November 4-6.
