PUMA Golf celebrated its first year in this market sector with the launch of a special limited edition gold collection at the Masters this month.
U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy of Australia and British Masters champion Johan Edfors featured metallic gold footwear combined with matching apparel, to highlight this ‘golden moment’. Each will wear the outfit during the tournament, providing a unique twist and look in their quest for the Green Jacket.
“The gold spikes will be pretty funky, especially for the Masters, but I always like to stand out a bit.” said Ogilvy. “Personally, I think gold shoes and a green jacket could make a very nice combo.”
“PUMA lets me express who I am as a golfer and as a person,” said Edfors, who was voted as a style trendsetter by the British golf fashion magazine GolfPunk last year. “I love being able to bring off-course lifestyle fashion elements onto the course with my apparel, footwear and accessories. The limited edition gold shoe is just another way to surprise fans with my outfits.”
Along with its regular colours, PUMA is making limited edition gold versions of the Concorde GTX – the lightest tour-grade performance shoe on the market with carbon fiber technology used in PUMA football boots – and the packable Traveller – made for wear both on and off the course – available to consumers beginning April 5th. Other PUMA Golf products can be found at select fashion and green grass retailers nationwide, on-line and at PUMA Concept Stores worldwide. Signed pairs can also be won online at www.puma.com.
PUMA’s female golfers will also be going for gold at the Ginn Open this month, including Erica Blasberg and Nicole Perrot.
