The renowned Highlander UK mountain marathon will benefit from partnering with Haglöfs for its 2010 edition, taking place on April 10-11. The Swedish outdoor brand will help encourage new entrants to this endruance race.
The demands from the Scottish weather and the tough mountainous backdrop make the Highlander an ideal event for those who like a challenge. It follows a traditional mountain marathon format over two days, with teams of two navigating over mountainous terrain and carrying all their equipment for the overnight camp. There are five classes to choose from which enables the event to cater for elite athletes and yet remain inclusive to a wide spectrum of competitors with a reasonable level of fitness who fancy tackling a new challenge. The format also enables friends or work colleagues to compete internally, thus adding an extra competitive element.
