German bootmaker Hanwag will extend its award-winning Tatra collection for 2018, introducing both an updated version of the original Tatra as well as a new, lightweight model suited to less demanding terrain.
Tatra II GTX
A tailored fit, superb comfort and outstanding stability, these characteristics have cemented the Tatra’s position as Hanwag’s bestselling trekking boot family. For SS18, Hanwag will introduce the Tatra II GTX which features an updated, modern design and minimal weight as well as advanced new features that promise greater functionality.
A new footbed has been developed to provide greater comfort and the Tatra II GTX also benefits from an innovative lacing system with click clamp eyelets and a tongue lace hook that prevents the boot’s tongue from slipping. As part of Hanwag’s extensive research programme into its offering for female hikers, the new Tatra Lady II GTX has been designed with a lower cut cuff that offers greater comfort for women.
Tatra Light GTX
For adventures in less extreme terrain, Hanwag has introduced a new, lightweight and sporty version of the Tatra, the Tatra Light GTX. Lighter than the original boot, the new Tatra Light GTX has been developed to offer maximum comfort on day hikes with a light pack. Ergonomically constructed to retain Hanwag’s legendary fit, the Tatra Light GTX features a lower height and ergonomic cuff construction for excellent stability and comfort, plus cushioning to help reduce fatigue.
To keep the boot’s weight to a minimum, Hanwag has partnered with long-standing sole partner Vibram® to produce the new Vibram Integral Light. Slightly softer than the sole used on the original Tatra, the Vibram Integral Light offers great shock absorbency. The modern, new Tatra Light GTX also includes Hanwag’s new Lateral Flex Technology, an innovative new construction that allows the boots to work in conjunction with your body’s natural biomechanical movement for increased support.
