Building on the international success of their graphene shoe launch last summer, British-born running brand inov-8 are now preparing to bring the revolutionary technology to a new market.
200 x stronger than steel, graphene was infused into the rubber outsoles used by inov-8 on their launch product, the TERRAULTRA 260 G – a shoe specifically designed for runners who train and race over hard ground trails.
The brand’s newest shoe to feature a graphene-enhanced rubber outsole is the MUDCLAW G 260 – a shoe designed specifically for runners who prefer to tackle softer, muddier ground.
Fell runners, obstacle course racers, orienteers, cross-country runners and many others will now all be able to benefit from the use of graphene-enhanced rubber, which is scientifically proven to be 50% stronger, 50% more elastic and 50% harder wearing.
inov-8, who are based in the fells and mountains of the Lake District, say the MUDCLAW 260 G shoes, which have claw-like 8mm studs, will deliver ‘The World’s Toughest Grip’.
The brand has collaborated with graphene experts at The University of Manchester on this pioneering project into the use of the planet’s strongest material in running and fitness shoes.
inov-8 had originally planned to launch the MUDCLAW G 260 at the same time as the TERRAULTRA G 260 but held it back for further work to be carried out, ensuring that its design and performance is industry-leading.
The shoes are set to be available to buy from January 2019. More details can be found at www.inov-8.com/graphene
