Bag brand says spring 2012 figures show signs of positivity

JanSport said good brands with good products are faring better with retailers, at the same time that it is seeing a three-fold increase in its spring figures.

Nathan Hill, recently promoted to the position of JanSport EMEA sales and marketing director from his role as UK and Ireland country manager, said he is seeing figures for spring 2012 that are three times the amount recorded in spring 2011.

This, he said, illustrates the healthy state of the JanSport business at present, as well as the position of the brand in the market.

“The general market in 2011 is going to be tough and it’s going to be hard to deliver on plan this year,” he said.

“My numbers for spring 2012 are showing triple digit growth, which in part is due to a wider and better product set. It is also due to the fact that good brands with good products are faring better.

“Retailers are spending more with fewer brands and we are one of those they are sticking by.”
