The first ever demo day in the country aimed exclusively at juniors took place at Sturminster Marshall GC in Dorset recently. It was a resounding success, as over 600 people turned up!
Organised by proprietor Mike Dodd and his head professional, the day was all about introducing youngsters to golf, and all the local schools had been targeted by flier, with the event also advertised in the local media.
The day featured Masters junior clubs, especially the MC-J510 series, for the more advanced young golfer, and the MC-J110 for the enthusiastic beginner. SNAG – which stands for Starting New at Golf, and is an excellent and fun method of introducing youngsters to the game – had a sizeable presence too, as did YMG (Young Masters Golf).
The MC-J510 range is aimed at juniors who really want to progress. It is the junior range of choice for many teaching pros, helping the learning process with consistent results and so allaying many of the frustrations which juniors experience. The irons are manufactured from 17/8 stainless steel, to tight loft, lie and weight tolerances, with progressive off-set which makes the long irons easier to hit. There are three height ranges within the series, all colour-coded, for children and young adults up to 5’6”, and the set can either be bought as a club pack with driver, woods, irons, putter and a bag, or the items can be bought individually.
Meanwhile, the MC-J110 comes as a club pack with lightweight titanium matrix driver, woods and irons, as well as a putter and bag.
