New Buck Knife for UK everyday carry

Buck Ridgeway 317BW

Buck Knives has launched its first ever everyday carry knife. The 317 Buck Ridgeway EDC, a traditional and elegant slip joint knife which is as safe to use as a conventional lock knife but also meets the needs expressed by UK customers for a knife that can be carried ‘everyday’ with no potential legal issues in the UK market, the first of its kind for Buck.

The new Ridgeway, exclusively distributed by Whitby & Co in the UK, found its name from the Ridgeway National Trail – described as Britain’s oldest road.

CJ Buck, CEO and chairman of Buck Knives, said: “We have many loyal fans in the UK market who want to carry a Buck, but unfortunately, knives with longer blades and locking mechanisms do not meet regulations for everyday carry use.”

With 100 years of experience and craftsmanship behind every Buck Knife, the new slip joint knife – a knife which has a handle with one or more folding blades – meets the requirements of everyday carry in the UK.

The law states that for ‘everyday legal carry’ (i.e. without the need to have a specific reason for carrying at any point in time) the knife must readily fold and the blade length must be 3” or less. With the Ridgeway folding with a 2.8” blade, it’s the perfect fit for consumers wanting a Buck Knife anytime.

Garry Woodhouse, sales and marketing director at Whitby & Co, said: “We’re delighted to announce the new edition to Buck’s extensive range of knives. A knife that’s very clearly legal to carry at all times in the UK is something completely new for Buck, and their fans are going to love it.

“The sleek design and smooth Burlwood handle mirrors Buck’s respectable craftsmanship and experience.”

CJ Buck, added: “We are happy to create such a product as a step to better serve our international customer base.”
