PROQUIP has announced that its pioneering Silk Touch rain suit has become the company’s biggest selling export in its 25 year history.
The market leading range, which features one of the lightest, quietest and most stretchable performance fabrics available, is selling in record volumes in America and Continental Europe, prompting the weatherwear manufacturer to step up production. Richard Head, managing director and chief designer of ProQuip, said: “Silk Touch sales have gone off the scale, particularly in America where the jackets and zip-off playing tops are selling at many of the most prestigious country clubs across the country. We have had a great deal of positive media coverage, which is fuelling both retail and consumer demand. ProQuip is known in America for its premium ultra-lightweight weatherwear – and Silk Touch, for many, is the lightest, quietest and most comfortable performance rain suit they have ever experienced.”
Thirty-six professionals on the US PGA Tour, including a number of multiple major winners, have chosen to wear Silk Touch this season. Meanwhile, in Europe, the distinctive lime and orange playing tops created a buzz at the rain affected Irish Open, where one high-profile professional in particular, famous for his sartorial statements, sported a Silk Touch suit during the final two days.
