Richard Leedham to leave the Berghaus business in 2018

After 22 years, Richard Leedham, President of the outdoor brand Berghaus, has decided to step down and will be leaving the business early in 2018.

In recent years, Richard has led a team that has turned the business around, delivering sustainable profits and re-focusing the brand.

Richard Leedham said, “It’s been an incredible experience for me, leading a brand that I’ve loved since my youth and working with such a talented and passionate team. I’ll always be grateful to Pentland for the opportunity that I’ve had here and to everyone in the company and wider industry who has supported me in my time at Berghaus.

“Over the next few months, I’ll be assisting in the recruitment of the new Brand Director and making sure the business is set up for a strong start in 2018. Thanks to continued significant investment from Pentland Brands, there are some exceptional product and marketing initiatives on the horizon that will make a big impact, and that is a very exciting prospect for whoever takes on the role of Brand Director.”

Chris Stephenson, global president, Active Division, Pentland Brands, said, “I’d like to thank Richard for his outstanding contributions to the Berghaus business. He’s been a passionate leader and will always be a member of the Berghaus and Pentland extended family.

“For now, it’s business as usual and I’d like to thank Richard for his commitment to supporting the smooth transition for his teams, our partners and our customers.”

The Berghaus brand, whose award-winning HQ is based in Sunderland, is part of the Pentland Brands Active Division.
