Sunday Afternoons, renowned for its impressive range of hats for lovers of the outdoors, has a fantastic ethos of giving back and will be helping the SWCPA reach its target of raising £40,000 by the end of October.
The fundraising challenge has been set to mark the 40th anniversary of the opening of the wonderful 630-mile National Trail.
“Given the immense enjoyment that we, our friends and families get out of the coast path, we couldn’t think of a better charity to support,” said Jon Whitfield, MD of Man O’Leisure the UK distributor for Sunday Afternoons.
“We are also incredibly lucky to have our office located only metres away from the stretch of coast path at Budleigh Salterton in East Devon and we take every opportunity to spend time enjoying it. We would like to thank everyone at the SWCPA for their hard work, we are absolutely delighted to be partnering with such a worthwhile cause.”
Starting in Somerset, the South West Coast Path takes in Cornwall, Devon, and Dorset and features 230 bridges, 880 gates, 436 stiles, 4,000 Coast Path signs and more than 30,000 steps! By maintaining and improving this trail the SWCPA keeps the stunning South West coastline accessible for all to enjoy and its 40th-anniversary appeal gives the public the chance to donate sums from £40 for the materials needed for four oak steps to £1,000 which covers the cost of installing two wooden gates.
Sunday Afternoons will be holding a number of fundraising events and sponsoring their very own step, which will get specially engraved, so do keep an eye out for it!
With a presence in 46 countries, Sunday Afternoons was launched in the UK in 2016, it is now stocked widely across the country and demand for the brand is increasing rapidly, with sales for this season already up by over 50%.
