PrimaLoft and Montane have been confirmed as sponsors for Trek & Mountain’s 2016 reader expedition to Nepal. The ‘Khumbu 3 Peaks 2016’ expedition is the most ambitious trip run for the magazine’s readers yet, taking in Mera Peak, Island Peak and Lobuche East in a month-long visit to the region.
Up to 12 readers will be donning Montane gear incorporating PrimaLoft technology as they attempt to climb three 6,000m trekking peaks located in the Khumbu region of Nepal, which is still recovering from the devastating events of April 2015.
The expedition is the fifth reader expedition run by Trek & Mountain, with previous expeditions including Kilimanjaro Western Beach (2013, sponsored by Helly Hansen), Mt Elbrus Traverse (2013, sponsored by Berghaus), Aconcagua (2015, sponsored by Haglofs and Powertraveller) and this August’s Stok Kangri trip (sponsored by Rab, Polartec and Lowe Alpine).
Trek & Mountain’s Advertising & Marketing Manager Nikki Skinner explains the appeal of the expeditions: “Our reader expeditions have proved massively popular with both brands and readers alike. For brands, it’s a great opportunity to speak directly with end users while generating high quality coverage both in print and via social media, and for our readers the expeditions provide a bespoke itinerary and the chance to try some of the latest clothing and gear technologies.”
