US backpack company Gregory Mountain Products has announced that it is to hold its Spring 2017 International Sales Meeting in the UK, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary.

The event, hosted by UK distributors Lyon Equipment, will take place in Cumbria from 31 May to 2 June bringing together sales representatives from Gregory HQ and its subsidiaries and distributors from around the world.

Originally founded in California in 1977 by backpack guru Wayne Gregory, the US manufacturer is famous for its innovation, quality, comfort and meticulous attention to detail. Since 2014, Gregory Mountain Products operates independently within the Samsonite group.

“Gregory is one of the best known and pre-eminent pack brands in the US, and with Samsonite’s backing is now growing fast internationally and here in the UK”, says Roger Chaldecott, Lyon Equipment Brand Manager for Gregory. “Hosting Gregory’s International Sales Meeting is, therefore, a great honour and opportunity for Lyon Equipment, allowing us to build further brand visibility.”

“2017 is a big year for us with our 40th anniversary, and we are doubly excited to be able to celebrate this with our worldwide partners in the UK”, says Adrian Davison, Brand Director Europe at Gregory. “Europe is central to the brand’s strategy and growth. We recognise the vital role that Europe plays in the evolution of our product line so it’s very appropriate that our International Sales Meeting takes place this side of the Atlantic.”
