OIA finalises full programme for its 2012 conference
The Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) has finalised the programme for its 2012 AGM and conference
This includes valuable industry insight and information from the UK and around the world, practical workshop sessions, extensive networking opportunities, a choice of outdoor activity sessions, and entertainment. The gathering will be hosted by HF Holidays at Newfield Hall in Malhamdale, Yorkshire, on 12 and 13 March.
The centrepiece of the two day event is the OIA conference, sponsored by The Outdoors Show, which will take place on 13 March. Entitled ‘New Horizons – the changing face of the outdoor industry’, the conference has a packed agenda, designed to build on the success of the 2011 event. The OIA has lined up three key speakers to address delegates on topics that are diverse, but all very relevant to outdoor businesses.
Roger Zeng, the president and founder of China Outdoor Retailer Association (CORA), will provide delegates with an insight into the Chinese outdoor market, which is growing at over 35% a year and is already the sixth largest in the world.
Mark Held, secretary general and co-founder of the European Outdoor Group (EOG), will present the results of a recent three year research project involving over 100 brands, exploring what is selling in Europe.
Dr William Bird MBE will bring the morning session to a close. A senior lecturer at the Peninsula Medial School, he chairs the Physical Activity Alliance and will share some of his experiences and ideas with conference delegates.
Lunch, sponsored by ISPO China, will be followed by the second half of the conference, offering a choice of five interactive workshops, from which delegates will be able to attend two. Each workshop will address an opportunity or challenge that the outdoor industry is facing, and will offer both useful information and relevant, practical advice. by Croner Consulting.
Places at the conference are £40 for OIA members (£55 for activities, dinner and conference) and £60 for non members (£75 for activities, dinner and conference).
